Chilliwack is known for its natural majestic beauty, outdoor lifestyle opportunities and prosperous industries, but did you know it’s also home to some amazing breweries?

It’s no secret that British Columbians love their craft brews, and pubs and bars across the province proudly serve Chilliwack-made beers on their taps because it’s just that good.

Our city has no shortage of delicious craft breweries, and with their taps constantly changing there is always something new to try.

This local favourite is located near the gateway to the gorgeous and picturesque River Valley.

According to them, the home gives them a fresh perspective that not only shapes who they are but also how they approach the craft of making excellent beer.

Old Yale Brewing seeks the perfect balance in its creations, using the highest-quality, all-natural ingredients combined with some of Canada’s best drinking water.

Their entire award-winning lineup is made to reflect this ideal balance, inspired by the terrain that surrounds them.

They believe the story of their hand-crafted beer cannot be fully told using just words alone, the beer’s story has to be experienced – one sip at a time.

Because they pride themselves on only brewing beer that they love to drink, when it comes to telling their story, they let their beer do the talking.

You can check out these tasty brews over at 404 – 44550 S. Sumas Road.

This wife-and-hubby-run brewery, tasting lounge and wood-fired kitchen is built right on their 11.5-acre farm.

Guests can enjoy a heated and covered patio, outdoor dining with tents and takeout (they don’t do reservations – it’s first come, first serve only).

There are only a few farm-based breweries in British Columbia, and among those, very few grow their own barley due to the amount of land required. However, because this husband and wife duo own such a large farm they’re able to grow their own ingredients.

The Farmhouse Brewing tasting room kitchen features yummy artisan-style pizzas and pretzels baked to go along with your brews, and for dessert, you can enjoy beer marshmallows and chocolate graham cracker s’more to roast outside by the firepits.

You can visit this one-of-a-kind brewery at 6385 Lickman Road.
